Read The Guide on the site. Its aim is to answer all you initial questions and provide you with a step by step route to a successful partnership and placement. As well as guidance we've provided resources that have been tried and tested which you can adapt to fit your own needs.

Use The Forum. There are people out there who can help: colleagues who have already managed a successful placement or undertaken some training, university staff who can offer advice, and people just like you who are also thinking of embarking on a placement for the first time. The forum is also a great place to research potential partnerships between museums, libraries, archives and ITT providers.

And of course when you're ready contact YMLAC, they will be able to offer professional advice, help with brokering partnerships and may even be able to signpost you to appropriate training and funding opportunities.
