Placements

Everyone agrees that placements in 'settings other than schools' are a good idea. We believe that ITT placements in a museum, library or archive (mla) offer substantial benefits for everyone involved.

Placements in mlas have the potential to vary considerably, from a matter of several days researching learning resources, or discovering alternative teaching methods to whole course team teaching and 10 week programmes of study based around mla visits and resources. (See the case studies section for some examples of placements already completed.)

Indeed, when planning placements a flexible rather than a prescriptive approach needs to be adopted by everyone in order to meet each of the partners' objectives. If there is good communication between the partnership and shared objectives and support, the success of the placement will be assured.
